Specs:
CPU: i5 6600K
MOBO: Gigabyte Z170XP Ultra Durable
GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 SC
PSU: EVGA 750W Gold

I got my GTX 1070 a few days ago. When I initially put it into my system it (PC and graphics card) ran just fine, this morning however, my computer wouldn't even start. To check what was wrong with it, I undid what I most recently did. I took out the graphics card. When the GPU was out, the PC booted up and functioned correctly. I am not sure how to go about solving my issue. I would like to emphasize that I made sure all the connections were secure and that the PCI slot on both the GPU and MOBO were clean. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you

Solution

I just got it from Newegg a few days ago. It initially worked fine for the first 2 days and only just this morning stopped. Ill look at the RMA process

If you know you have connected all of the power connectors required from the Psu of the system to the motherboard.

The 24 pin main Atx power block of the motherboard.
And also the Eight pin 12v E-atx or EPS power connector from the Psu of the system.

And also any 12v Pci-e power connectors from the Psu to the Gtx 1070 SC card that is also required.

Double check that the GTX graphics card is seated in the Pci- card slot of the motherboard Flush when fitted to the slot.

Always install the Pci-e graphics card in the first most upper Pci-e card slot of the motherboard.
As if the motherboard has two Pci-e based card slots for graphics cards sometimes it is not see or detected by the motherboard if placed in the second provided Pci-e card slot of the motherboard Khan.

When installing the card before you screw the screw in on the retaining bracket of the card to the system case.

Make sure you lift the Graphics card up over slightly towards the top of the system case, the tighten the retaining screw.

In the bios setup of the motherboard, under the advanced bios settings option.

Make sure the default graphics card to initialise first and the slot selected is set to Pci-e for the interface type.

For hardware, and boot detection order, make sure the mode of Legacy op rom \ Uefi mode is set and selected in the bios settings also.

Save all of the new changes before you exit the bios.

See if the GTX 1070 card is then detected by the motherboard Khan.

I did everything as far as the hardware installation goes but the PC still won't boot up. Since the system isn't booting up, I cannot access the BIOS. I also tried resetting the CMOS as someone else recommended. The system till does not boot up.

It might be a card issue. Try testing it in different pc, or RMA-ing it.
