Is my HP stream compatable with WD Blue Scorpio?

I have a WD Scorpio Blue, 250gb made in 2009. My HP Stream laptop in not recognizing the device and ive tried installing compatable software. What do i need to do to access my WD Blue? What softwares do i download. There is a gap i dont know how to fill in the connection problem. Please help

The WD Scorpio Blue 250GB is a SATA HDD, so it should be compatible with your laptop, indeed. How long have you had that drive and do you have any important data on it? I'd recommend you try connecting it to another computer, internally via SATA or externally via a SATA-to-USB cable or an enclosure/dock station. This way you will be able to see if the HDD is properly recognized by the other systems.
I'd also suggest you check if the WD Scorpio Blue appears in Disk Management and how it is listed there.
