I am at a loss, here. Due to an extremely spotty ISP, my household experiences quite frequent short internet/cable/phone outages. This wouldn't be a problem, however, after one of these outages, many of the applications on my PC (mainly Chrome and Discord) are unable to connect back to the internet. Chrome is unable to access most websites, citing a DNS error, and Discord is simply unable to connect to its servers, instead giving me an endless loading screen. I should add that other browsers (Microsoft Edge) are able to connect to the internet and the websites that Chrome couldn't connect to just fine.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling both of these programs, but to no avail. The only solution that has worked so far is to reset my PC, but this is impractical for obvious reasons. This shouldn't be happening in the first place, and I would really appreciate any help in rectifying my issue.

It would suggest that if you connect through a cable modem/ router setup or ADSL type connection.

That you first log into the router setup pages of the router it`s self.
Check the status of the hardware firewall that all routers have.

If it is set to high as the current selection.
Set the hardware firewall of the router to a medium setting Ahammer
Then save the changes you have made before exiting the routers firmware or setup pages options.

Next depending on the version of windows OS you are running.
Check the Status of windows firewall also.

Again your options here are to either lower the security settings to Medium settings if currently set to high Ahammer.
Or completely disable windows OS software fire wall to stop it running...

Click ok or appy when you are done.

Then restart your system.
See if the problem is resolved with using the chrome browser and Discord programs you use Ahammer.

If it works, it should solve the problem completely for you.

If not it is more to do with a problem with the ISP you are currently using.
