Will my Power Supply do

Solution
Ok well if you feel comfortable with it now thats fine, just make it your next priority update to your computer. The build looks fine and the 500W CX should provide enough power to run the system you designed. The G2 is an good PSU.

Yeah, I know they have had their issues, I mean, my cx has done me well for 3-4 years :D

I was planning to go with a EVGA G2 650w

Thank you,

Also a little off topic.

although i see the intel badge on you so I would assume you would know a little better than me,

If the 6700k worth it over the 6600k?

cheers

Well it depends on what you plan to do. If you want to get the very best benchmark scores, image or video editing, CAD, and other high end tasks like compile huge source code listings then the i7 is ideal. When streaming games it can be helpful.

If you're just gaming then the i5 makes more sense financially.

My next CPU will be an Intel i7 or AMD Zen depending on how the reviews go this fall, but I do a lot of work with virtual machines and visual studio.

Yeah I dab my feet into editing and photoshop sometimes, and I stream every so often. This upgrade will be me fore a few years so I am better off just going for the i7, although I hate that ZEN is around the corner not knowing what it would be capable of.

Rumors based on AMD's expectations of the CPU would make Zen an equal with Intel's best processors. But I've learned not to trust AMD's marketing tactics.
As an AMD fan it pains me to say that, but I've been burned to many times by them in the last 5 years to believe them without first seeing benchmarks by reliable 3rd party sites like Tomshardware.

If you can afford the extra $100 or so USD dollars then go for the i7.
