Fixing services that have 'stopped' in msconfig

So i got a phone from a independent company and they explained to me that over 50% of the services in my system configuration are corrupted and don't work, or have 'stopped'. they asked for 80 quid. is there a way i can fix these myself??:(

Click on the start button, go to search, type in services.exe and hit enter.
Call them back again and have them explain which services is needed for the phone to work on your os.
