Just got new ram sticks and i tried replacing them with my old one but once i started my pc an alarm sounded and it wouldnt boot.

I got the gskull 2x4gb. It has different timing than my old ram. 99924 vs 11111128. Is that why? Also i couldnt get the clips to nap in place...

Put my old ram in and its booting fine

g.skil has a ram selection app.
You enter your motherboard and you will get a list of supported ram kits.
If your kit is on the list, contact g.skil for support.

But... If you can not snap the ram clips in place you are doing something wrong, and it is not surprising that you can not boot.

Which motherboard exactly?
Which ram exactly?

If the ram can fit the motherboard (are compatibel) should you give some extra pressure (be carefull of course) on the sticks to make them fit.If they go fully in should the clips snap into place by themselves, you can help for the last bit of course.
If still having problems when fully in can you do a clear cmos, see if that helps.

according to speccy mobo is: Hewlett-Packard 2B2C or memphis 2-s

ram is gskill rip jaws 2x4gb ddr3 pc3 12800, intel xmp ready

I'm thinking maybe i just didn't push them in enough even though i did push down on them and they wouldn't budge. I put my old ram in and push it and it went in further so maybe i'll try again...
