Is it worth upgrading from a 960 to 1060?

I think it depends a lot on what games you're playing, what the refresh rate and resolution of your monitor is, and what levels of performance and graphics settings are acceptable to you. But for the average user playing AAA titles in 1080p, I'd say yes it is worthwhile.

2GB is not great for 1080p anymore. For instance, the new DOOM is far better w/ a 960-4GB than w/ a 960-2GB.
So you will see that this is a good upgrade in gpu performance for both reasons: stronger core and 6GB VRAM.

The 960 was always hamstrung by it's memory bandwidth/speed whether it was in a 2GB or 4GB config. The 1060 is a significant upgrade in all areas. For 1080p gaming with a 60Hz monitor, I'd wager you would be set for a good while.
