Hey there! I posted a like topic yesterday but only got one response and I am still looking for more insight.

In short, I have a 2500k on a custom water loop running at 4.5Ghz

Should I opt for a GTX 1060 or used GTX 970? I currently have a a 570 that is on it's last leg. I mainly deal with video editing. 4k is too slow with this card when working with files on primer pro's timeline.
As a former gamer, I still want the option, I just don't have much time to play.

Performance wise, I know the two are very close with the 1060 winning out a bit. But my main concern is the CPU not keeping up. Is this a problem in games only, or would this fall through in video editing too?

Does anyone have experience here?

No need to post duplicate threads. The 1060 is a better card than the 970, especially if you are buying it used with no warranty. It's like asking if you should buy a new BMW or a used Lexus, while similar, can't really compare the two very well.

If you want to save money, get the 970. If you want a faster card with a warranty, get the 1060. Your issue with video editing you need a faster CPU also.
