Hey guys, i once had a Creative X-Fi Titanium sound card and i must say it was awesome combined with my logitech 5.1 speakers.
Back in 2015 i did GTX 970 3-way SLI and i was having problem keeping my creative card in place so i sold it thinking that it was a very old card and my newer motherboard may have much better on-board sound, it was a huge mistake which i realized after selling my card and now i have had enough of poor sound quality.
So my question here is which is a better sound card these days? Is Xonar DX 7.1 atleast as good as my creative x-fi titanium was? Or atleast is it better then what my mobo has onboard? (i will guess so)

Solution
I don't have direct experience with those but I did recently add an Asus Phoebus https://www.asus.com/Sound-Cards/ROG_Xonar_Phoebus/ to my system upgrading from my Gigabyte motherboard sound and was very impressed with the upgrade but I am very fussy with audio. So while most people are very happy with on board sound I agree its not always as good as people claim especially if running good quality speakers or headphones.

The problem with audio is its very subjective, what one person likes another doesn't.
