I have an i5 2320 3.0GHz Turbo to 3.3GHz, has a LGA1155 socket. I would like to know whether this means that I can upgrade to any CPU with a LGA1155 socket without changing my motherboard? e.g. to an Intel Core i7-2700K 3.5GHz? Or an Intel Core i5 4460 3.20GHz?

H61 usually supports the 3rd gen i5 and i7 CPUs, but will need a bios update first. Youll need to know the exact make and model really.

The safe option is to just grab a i7 2600(k) or 2700(k), you will likely need a better cpu cooler also.
Go to the motherboard manufacture's webpage and look up your motherboard, there will be a list of supported cpus for it.

As to your OP no you cant upgrade to an i5 4460, that uses an LGA 1150 socket and wont fit in your 1155 motherboard. You have to stick with an 2xxx or 3xxx series intel CPU to fit in the 1155 socket.

It's something along the lines of Intel H61 Express Chipset.
