Hello, i wanted to no if the cpu i want to buy will have a better performance rate than my current cpu.

Current: AMD A8-6600K APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 3900 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)

Want to buy: AMD Athlon x4 860k

[PS Dont no if you need it but my motherboard is: MSI A78M-E35]

Please try not to be to harsh on me i really dont no that much about PC'S.

Thank you.

Firstly your current CPU is what AMD calls an APU (basically it has a GPU integrated into it) the x4 860k is purely a CPU so you would need a separate graphics card to change to this. If you sell your APU you might break even on this upgrade although it isn't a huge performance boost for you. I think you would probably be better placed saving money towards a full motherboard/CPU upgrade down the line.

However if you do decide upgrade you should make sure your don't need a BIOS update for your motherboard to support the new chip.
