Brand new pc build with formated hdd running at 100% disk usage??

Solution

Np man, I solved it...
Hi there W0lf17,

What is your OS? In case it is Win 10, there's a chance that the high disk usage is caused by background OS services. There are many threads on Win 10 100% disk usage, with different causes and solutions. You can go through some of these.

What seems to be causing the usage?(Resource Monitor)

Another thing you can do, is to check your drive's health status: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
Also, you can attach it with different cables to another port.

If the issue persists, then all of this is most probably caused by Win services.

Let me know how this goes,

Hi yes i have win 10, i have tried to disable super fetch, windows search , the backround inteligence and nothing works . I have tried different sata ports and the disk seems fine according to crystal info. Do i have to update some type of firmware or can it be because i haven't activated windows 10 yet?

Sorry for the late reply.

I believe you've tried different cables as well right?

If this is the case, then the HDD and the connection should be fine. Most probably this is caused by Windows. Disabling these three services that you've mentioned, helped many users that were on Win 8.1.
On Win 10 though, there some other things that could be causing that. Just do some research.

Here are some threads on that(check all the comments and suggestions below):

I don't think this is a firmware issue. You don't need to update anything.
