Hey everyone,

PC just died sadly :(
I suspect it's the power supply (not 100% sure) as so far I've tested both my SSD and HDD and both are still alive.

My build:
CPU: AMD FX-6300
MOTHERBOARD: ASRock 960GM/U3S3 FX
GPU: Msi Radeon 7850 2GB
PSU: XFX
TS 550W 80 Plus Gold certified Power Supply Unit(P1-550G-TS3X)

(Sorry if I've forgotten a part)

Help is appreciated :)

Cheers
Hussain

Will not turn on at all. How can I test the motherboard. Also had an XFX psu before with this build but replaced it with this current PSU because the old one started to give off a strong smell.

EDIT: It recently started to not turn on until the power button was pressed 2 - 4 times. Now it doesn't turn on at all.

try doing this method. powering the psu with a paper clip or tweezers by connecting it to the black and green combined. and see if the psu powers on or not. this is the only way to tell if the psu works. make sure the psu is not powering any of the pc components.

Thank you for helping me out ModernWarfare. I might stick with my laptop for a while until I save up for GTX 980 system. I mainly used the PC for gaming however I feel as though the 7850 will start to struggle with keeping up with the latest demanding games within the next few years. Also I don't think there's a point of me spending money on a motherboard which will be useless if I decide to switch to an Intel processor with the GTX 980 build. Thanks again for your help :)

I messed around with the wiring today and it turned out to be an issue with the PSU wiring. The PC would turn on if the cable for the motherboard power was bent in a certain way *facepalm*
