Okay, so yesterday i attempted to play csgo when suddenly i realized that my ping would jump from 20-48 every 5 seconds. Although this may not seem bad, its the extremely quick jump in ping that causes me to stutter and lag for a second. This angers me because i would have an advantage over someone then rubber band backwards to a previous location causing me to become lost and die. ive restarted my pc, restored it, restarted my wifi, and nothing has changed. this just came up yesterday and i cant seem to find a solution. Sombebody please help me. Thank you.

Wired is something that even my dad may help me with. Although problems that may occur is how far away my modem is from my PC. we would have to run a cable through the window to the top of my house but i guess if that's the only solution, id have to do it. But i just don't understand how a problem like this just occurs i did nothing at all. I woke up hoped on and this started happening. But yea ill have to try wired. Thank you!

If running Ethernet is that much of a hassle, try powerline. From what I've experienced, you'll lose ~30% of your speed, but you might fair better than I.

Also, check if your house is already wired with Ethernet. You might get lucky!

Keep me posted.

Powerline is now quite a good solution, but I strongly suggest AV1200 rated adapters. The TP-Link AV1200 pair (8010 or 8030 depending on pass through plug or not), which is often down to $50 a pair on sale for the 8010 set, will give you around 250Mbps at a distant plug. I've installed several dozen sets and not had anyone with connections much below that speed.

As important though, it will give you greatly reduced latency very consistently as long as you don't have a large motor near either adapter (like floor fans or refrigerators).

Ok, i have just encountered a huge problem. I think there is something wrong with my pc because now even when im on lets say google chrome and watching youtube, my whole google page would freeze and i cant exit out until i disconnect from my wifi then reconnect. I really dont understand this.

Ok i looked around my pc and noticed that every 8 seconds my Mbps would drop from 72 to 54. Then immediately go back to 72. This drop kills me as i lag in game and what not. Please help

Well, that sounds like an issue with your wireless card. Using wired might also resolve this new issue.

If after switching to wired Ethernet the issue persists, make a new thread and we'll help you out.

i found out i needed to update my Driver. So i did that and now instead of 72 mbps im getting 260.0 mbps. I really don't know if thats bad or good but i still find my connection almost dead stopping during a game every couple of seconds
