Hello,

My stock intel cooler died recently and I was looking for a new cooler. I want to buy Arctic Alpine 11 Pro since my CPU isn't oced and I don't plan to oc. The question is: since this cooler is recommended for CPUs up to 85W TDP and I have Core 2 Quad Q8200 with 95W TDP. Is that going to be an issue or will it work fine? It's also written by manfucaturer that this cooler decreased temperature of Q6600 by 6 degrees and that CPU has 105W TDP. This is all new to me so I wanna know is it safe to buy this cooler?

Thank you all in advance.

At that price range, you can get some nice heatpipe-based coolers like a Hyper 212 Plus, or for slightly less, a Hyper TX3 or Hyper T4. However, if you want a stock-style cooler, you might actually be better off with a Thermaltake CL-P0497 than the Arctic Alpine 11 Pro. It's cheaper than the Arctic, yet has somewhat better reviews at Newegg.
The specs for the Arctic Alpine 11 Pro say "max cooling performance" is 95W, so it might barely be enough for a 95W TDP cpu, but I wouldn't risk it.

How much are you willing to pay for a new cpu cooler? If you can stretch a bit to the popular Cryorig H7, that should be much safer, even if you don't plan to OC.

Well I was thinking up to $20... in all honestly I just want something that does the job, it can bit a bit loud or not be the best etc. Just something that will cool CPU nicely enough for it to stay in safe temperatures during CS GO play.

I might look at that TT if I can find it in my country. There is not much to choose from and the problem with TX3 is that it's $35 here. Thank you for you help man :).
