I am on vacation currently and when I get back, I have new, upgraded PC parts waiting for me. I have been using an FX-8350 and I am upgrading to an i5-6600k. I am reusing my cooler from my FX-8350, my Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. I heard about the CPUs bending earlier today and I am now worried that when I get home to build my computer, that the Evo will bend my CPU.

Will the Hyper 212 Evo bend my i5-6600k?

Solution

No that's fine. By shipping I mean throwing it in a box and letting UPS have its way with it. Moving it around in a room is fine. The reports that came in were all with high pressure mounting systems and what looks to be shipping issues like mentioned earlier in the thread. You're fine with the EVO.

Certain coolers were bending the substrate of the Skylake processors because of their thinner substrate. I am just wondering if the Hyper 212 Evo will bend my i5-6600k.

No, it wont happen. The evo doesn't have a very high mounting pressure.

And also, reading carefully about the 'bent cpus', all the ones i could find where bent during transport, or because of the pc falling/receiving some kind of shock, or outright wrong mounting of the cooler.
It's a minimal issue that has been blown out of proportion by internet media, actually.

Moving the PC from where I am building it to under my desk b lifting it and putting it down won't do anything, right? I just don't want to pick it up and put it under my desk and have that motion bend my CPU.

Thank you all for your help, it has eased my mind, but one last thing, I ordered this Hyper 212 Evo at the beginning of 2015, before the Skylake line of CPUs came out. Has the Hyper 212 Evo changed at all since the release of Skylake?
