I am just having fun simplifying my Dell SC440 home server.
It is provisioned as a P2P server, File Server, Backup Server, and Streaming Media Server.
I have another identical server that I'd like to use as a home lab and would prefer to allocate my existing memory to that one.
I'd like to know the best way to determine what the minimum amount of RAM I can pull off for the first home server would be just for fun, energy efficiency, the above stated reallocation purposes, and simplicity.
How would you go about identifying the RAM requirement?
I guess part of it would to have it run under all loads for which it would be provisioned?
Are native window tools the best, or are there some free/easy to use third party tools for this available?
Thank you!
