So, I have an outdated router that has a COAX cable connected to the modem/router. The modem/router is an xfinity 2 in 1 I think. There is a Belkin router hooked up to the modem with a cable. I've had this setup for a few years now and I am wondering if this is more than I need. I get about 90 download and 12 upload with 9 ping. Whenever I connect to the internet, I connect to the router's. Also, Do newer routers use COAX or is this an outdated thing?

Solution

The coax comes from your ISP. It is one of the major types of connections.
It is not 'outdated'.
