Hey guys so I hope one of you can help me. About 5 months back I put my pc into sleep mode to do the dishes(fun right) and when I got back the monitor was still in standby mode and it wouldnt come back on again. So I decided to reboot obviously and since then, fans spin up case lighting everything is good except no video.

The pc was my dads pc and I know the hardware is a bit old but the specs are as follows.
New Rm750x corsair psu
Intel DH67BL mobo
I5 2500 cpu
8 GB 1333 mhz kingston valueram(new)
MSI GT 440 1GB ddr3 gpu
Windows 10 home 64 bit (bought new)

As you can see I am in the process of upgrading the pc so I already replaced the old psu,ram and tried another motherboard. The monitor works (checked with ps3). I tried swithing to onboard display, resetting cmos, tried standard config bios through bios jumper. I also have a coolermaster strom enforcer. Before that my dad and I made the mistake of buying a Tesseract case as it looked decent and did not cost an arm and a leg. I built everything in there and as soon as I switched it on it would go off again. We concluded the case was making a short that was what caused it to switch off. So that is when I returned the case and bought the cm storm.

I tried to take the pc in to an shop but it will cost R550 (about $50) just to check what is wrong and I cant afford that.
Any thoughts please.

Thank you

Hi,

I have seen this issue on a few occasions and cmos always seem to do the trick.
Can you try pulling out the power > taking out the cmos > holding the power button for 30 seconds to drain capacitors > plug everything back in? Can you also try the same without the cmos in at all

Hi I am very sorry for the delay but I have checked and tried, it does not work. An IT guy at my dad's work said it is my bios but I don't know how hard he searched, so I changed the mobo again but no luck.
I forgot to mention the keyboard does not respond. No caps or num lights.
Next step or thoughts?

Thanks for any help

Just to update everyone, I will be replacing my motherboard,Processor and RAM. The IT guy (at my dad's work) tested my CPU and motherboard and both were fried so I will be getting:
Gigabvte GAZ97X Gaming 5
i5 4690K
8GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 RAM.
All for just R5000 about $361. All the parts are brand new and he will install the parts. As he will be doing the assembling I will get a warranty from his and obviously the individual warranties of the parts.

These parts will go into my CM storm Enforcer case-NOT THAT CHEAP TESSERRACT THAT FRIED EVERYTHING- done venting :)
I will update this thread as soon as my PC is working so we can put it to sleep for good.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Okay, i finally have my PC up and running again. New mobo, cpu and RAM. The problem was that cheap chassis I had.
Thank all of you for your help.
SOLUTION: DO NOT BUY CHEAP CASES-RATHER SAVE AND BUY A GOOD QUALITY ONE OR ELSE YOU MIGHT HAVE TO REPLACE YOUR WHOLE SYSTEM
