RX 480 or GTX 1060?

So with the recent release of the GTX 1060 and its retailing price I have been faced with a dilemma.

The RX 480 is now more expensive than the GTX 1060, and according to benchmarks the 1060 is noticeably faster even on DX 12 supporting games.

Can I have some advice on this? And which companies offer better coolers?

Like EVGA, MSI, Zotac etc..

Either one is a good choice in my opinion. I'm going with a 1060 from EVGA because I need a short card. Typically the big four gpu companies that I often see recommended are MSI, ASUS, Gugabyte, and EVGA. I would go with one of them.

Depends on your country & pricing really.
The sapphire trix 4gb 480 is looking a good buy at £199 in the UK & should be out in the next 7 days.

How much more expensive is the RX 480? Both are great mainstream cards and in regards to your cooling concerns, any AIB partner will cool the 1060 just fine. Just pick the one you think looks the best and is the cheapest.

Im in the UK, and the RX 480 seems to be £10 more or about the same price, and the benchmarks seem to suggest that the 1060 is slightly better. At the moment the cheapest 1060 is the Zotac one.

Hey I am curious where did you see the 1060 being better in dx12 games than a 480.No offence but I was goin for a 1060,it being cheaper in my country.And I saw benchmarks at anandtech and some youtube videos on these benchmark.The rx 480 seems to perform better in x12,because of the architecture of rx480 designed keeping dx12 in mind(I just got this info from soemwhr.Don't know details).

If you have those benchmark sources plz share

I'd be looking at the nitro 4gb (yes its preorder but I'm told 10 days or so till in stock)

4gb is enough for 1080 p IMO & the card has pulled in very very good reviews

I would preferably like to wait for an aftermarket cooler version, like the sapphire nitro one. Stock cooler seems bad IMO
