Last week my external HDD accidentally fell down from 1 meter distance. It worked just fine 30 mins and then boom, stopped working, now it looks that when I connect it to my laptop http://take.ms/5EapON and trying to open it, I receive different errors such as:
"The parameter is incorrect"
"The request could not be performed because of an i/o device error"
"The request failed due to a fatal device hardware error"
Tried the chkdsk method but after 1-2hrs I get "an unspecified error occurred (... 1bdc)"
What makes me believe that there is a chance to be saved is that a few days ago my attempt to open it succeded, I did open it and I was able to look into my documents but only for a few minutes.
Currently it keeps loading and when I try to open it I receive the above errors.
Is there someone who is having the same problems?
Best,
Daniel
