Built a New PC but Monitor says No Signal

Hello everybody,

Thanks in advance for any answers provided.

I completed a new PC build and here are the specs
ASUS Max VIII Hero
Geforce GTX 1080
Rip Jaws 5 Series 64GB (4x16)
Corsair 100i v2
1000W EVGA Plat
Samsung 850 Pro 1TB
Seagate Barracuda 3TB
With an Acer XB241H

After building I was, of course, ecstatic to turn it on. But when I proceed to do so, the monitor turns on and Acer Predator is on the screen. Then it turns to "No Signal" and goes to sleep.

I have scoured the web and searched and attempted multiple solutions. Reinstalled RAM, made sure CPU was fine, made sure thermal paste was not anywhere it wasnt supposed to be, made sure screws werent too tight, put in one RAM at a time. Reconnected all SATA connections to the HDD and SSD. Made sure all SATAs led to only one device. Everything within the PC turns on. There is a Q Code for A0, which is fine. But there is a peculiar orange light and it stands for BOOT DEVICE LED. I dont know how to solve that as I have tried all the methods mentioned. Any solution is appreciated. Thank you

Hi, What CPU using? Is the monitor connected to the graphics card (not motherboard)?

Im sorry. I knew I left out a component. I am using i7 6700k CPU.
The monitor is hooked to the DP. There is no chord for direct DVI/VGA connection from GPU to Monitor.

DP on the motherboard, or graphics card? If motherboard, then you'd have to remove the card, for getting signal (the onboard is automatically disabled, when card installed).

Does the graphics card have a DP port? If not, what ports are available on the graphics card and what ports on the monitor?

Nope. It has a DVI port only. The one where you twist the two side pins in.

It has Power, HDMI, and DP. The latter two can go directly to the MOBO I/O. Would I need to buy an Adapter to try to connect the GPU directly to the monitor?

pretty sure it should have more ports than a DVI only. below the DVI port you should find some HDMI and Display ports

Ok, I finally figured out what you guys are talking about. That was a derp moment for me. Now I will try to connect DP directly to GPU and turn system back on.

Wait. You say the DP cord is installed to the MOBO? This is why no signal. You need to install the cord going to the monitor to the GPU. The monitor has DP/hdmi ports, a gtx 1080 has DP/hdmi/dl-dvi ports. Or is it an aftermarket brand of gpu?

what make is the GTX 1080? it should have HDMI and DP ports.
I am pretty sure every GTX 1080 would have more than just DVI ports cause otherwise what is the use of that much power if you have a crappy resolution limit!!
