Hey guys. I've been having a frustrating issue for the last couple of days. I've been trying to install Windows 7 on my computer. My specs are:

Intel i7 6700k
Nvidia GTX Geforce 1070 8gb
16gb ddr4 ram
Asus z170-a
240gb ssd

Now I can get Windows 7 installed and I can get through the setup, but I can't very far after that. I've tried to install the OS a few times after cleaning the ssd, and I've had a couple of issues. The first issue I had was the computer would be stuck in a perpetual restart loop after installing all the drivers, with blue screens and error codes. So I decided to clean the ssd and try again. That was with installing a modified iso with the included drivers from Asus for the usb's. The next few tries I tried installing off of a usb. Now with the usb method, I did download and use the ASRock usb patcher and I do want to report that their usb patcher works on other motherboard vendors. I can get the OS installed and setup, but as soon as I put in the Asus driver cd, the system automatically shuts down and tries to reboot. Except the computer doesn't boot further than the Asus screen and freezes. The only fix I've found for that is to power down the computer, flip the psu switch, unplug the ssd from power, turn the computer back on, power it off again, and then plug the ssd back into power. But I don't know why it's rebooting whenever I put in a cd. I've checked my ram, my processor, my psu, motherboard, and ssd. Everything is fine and is working properly. I also don't get any beeps at startup. So that's good there. What could be causing the computer to reboot?

Also, I wanted to mention, the first install method I did was with a blank dvd just like the motherboard manual told me to do. The second was just another method I found on a forum post somewhere

did you install the newer mei driver and chipset driver to the usb image??
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility-
is the sata ports set to achi mode or raid or ide. make sure it set to achi. pull the gpu use onboard video. get all the drivers installed and make sure the mb bios is updated. once windows drivers are updated put the gpu back in.

Turns out, that things were having a huge incompatibility with my video card and power cycling because of it. I tried everything you guys said and it didn't work out. I'll just have to go back to Windows 10

Have I got this right ? You installed Windows 10 and are now trying to go back to and install Windows 7 ?
You need to remove all the Win10 files before you can re-install Win 7.
They are probably on your C drive in a folder with a $ as the first letter of the folder name.

No I'm not trying to go from 10 to 7. I was cleaning my ssd completely and then trying to install windows 7. Secure boot was getting in my way when it came to windows 7. I managed to disable secure boot and install windows 7. I also managed to get windows updates working on windows 7 too. So all is sorted put. For now
