Pascal VS Maxwell sli

hello peeps , I have a 1440p 144hz monitor looking to do sli or maybe a gtx 1080. I have both Evga 980 ti SC+ and a MSI gtx 1070 gaming X I could use for sli

Seeing Pascal don't scale well ( ATM ) ? maybe never ? would it be better to get a 2nd 980 ti for sli then a gtx 1070 or skip sli and go for a single gtx 1080

I know both 980 ti and 1070 give good playable FPS at 1440p would just like to take advantage of my monitors refresh rate. it does have Gsync its a ROG Swift

any inputs welcomed

Thanks

Pascal seems to scale fine on games that are coded properly for it. These cards are brand new, it's going to be a while before we know definitively the answer to that. I personally try to get the most powerful single card I can, because SLI/Crossfire comes with so many problems. I would sell your two cards and get a 1080. But it's your $.

I've been following this quite a bit having just bought a EVGA 1080 FTW, and there is a rumor about the 1080Ti being a no-show this gen. We obviously don't know yet for certain, only that there will be a Titan X, but it could be a real long wait holding out for the Ti, if it ever even materializes at all.

Yeah I read the TitanX are coming , but 1200 bucks no ty
