Attempting to reinstall windows 7 due to an error. After it restarts my computer it brings me to a screen where I am supposed to enter the language, but I can't the thing isn't reconizing the mouse or the keyboard. I put them in USB 2.0 ports and nothing. I left it for 5+ minutes still nothing. Please remember this is reinstalling windows from the PC I am on now. It is a Gigabyte motherboard as well.

Hello... There are different methods you can do... "Re-fresh" just the Windows files with new, leaving other data/folders intact, Or "clean install" all Partitions (data) is first removed, and Install media is used... utube these procedures for your OS.

***You will need to Download to an USB stick, from your "Gigabyte motherboard site"... The pre-install ahci.sys driver for your MB SATA/HD/SSD chip, for WIN 7 to see or use your HD/SSD for the install.

1) Go into your BIO and enable "Legacy USB" -"both" save&exit.

I have seen some USB keyboards brands not work with the install OS media... try a basic USB keyboard/mouse or pick up a "dell" from a computer re-cycling store $4 for the install.

Thank you for the reply, if I were to do a clean install will that delete all my files?

Hello... Logically YES.. Physically NO... all files need a address in a Partition... "clean install" removes all Partitions and thus no addresses... Homeless "1" and "O" so to say... that will be written over with new files... "Format" will Physically change '1" and "0" on the drive , if so desired first (security)... a large drive will take a while to complete this, Partition removal only is very fast. B /
