Hello everyone,

I build a system with two pumps (Swiftech MCP655-PWM-DRIVE) and I'm confused where to plug the blue wire 4-pin fan. Which connector of my mother board (cha_fan1, cha_fan2, CPU_FAN or cpu_opt?

Q1: I have other options outside the motherboard?
Q2: Is mandatory connect these blue 4-pin fan or wire can leave unplugged?
Q3: Can I plug directly into the PSU through splitter fans and molex?

My MB is ASUS MAXIMUS VII RANGER Z97. Thanks

You can plug the cable into any 4 pin header that is PWM controlled. If you are using the pump in a loop that is mostly CPU orientated then you could plug the cable into CPU_FAN or CPU_OPT if they are not occupied by your radiator fans. You should be able to set a fan curve in your BIOS to any PWM controlled header, which will ramp up your pump depending on either CPU Temp (if you plug the pump into CPU_FAN or CPU_OPT) or Motherboard temp (if you plug into CHA_FAN1 or 2).

thanks man !!

Yes, I have a loop to the CPU, mosfet and ram block, then will plug this in CPU_FAN and I have another loop only for GPUs, that I can plug into any cha-fan of my mobo.

As the wire was short, I have a cable extension for 3-pin, I would 4-pin to 3-pin on the mobo, I would have a problem with that ? I can use this extension cable ? Thanks again !!

I wouldn't. Technically, it may work, except the whole point of having a PWM pump is to be able to control it automatically, which is not possible with a 3 pin cable, unless your motherboard supports variable DC fans.
