What's more important when it comes to 3D animation rendering ? CPU or GPU ?

Good day everyone ! So I am currently building my own pc, which I'll use for autodesk maya, zbrush, AE, Premiere Pro, and for gaming. But i'm currently having a problem choosing where to put more budget between the GPU and the CPU. My 1st option is i7 5820k paired with gtx 1060 and the other one is i7 6700 paired with gtx 1070/gtx 980 ti. What do you guys think is the best one ? Advance thankyou for your answers !

Balance is key :)

i7 6700 + 1070

Can you please explain to me why the GPU more important sir ? Is it because of the CUDA cores ? Im really curious about how it works and how much impact does it produce for the render time of a specific scene.

Oww.. so what do you think about the gtx 1070 ? Will it really give me a big boost in rendering scenes ? And what do you think about gtx 980 ti ? From what I saw it has alot more CUDA cores than the gtx 1070. Does the number of CUDA cores affect the duration of rendering a scene ?

What about in rendering animation ? What is more important, the hyper threading of the CPU or the number of cores of the GPU ?
