Hello gentlemen, I have an issue with connecting to Internet. Here is the run down: There is a port(cable connection in the wall) if I connect the lan cable into it and plug it into my laptop I have Internet connection. BUT when I plug same cable into a router it shows wan is on but (connecting wirelessly with laptop to the wifi) gives no internet connection. When I quick set up the router it says there is dynamic IP but it always shows 0.0.0.0 when refreshing it. So I have Internet connection via wire to pc but no internet connection via wire/router/pc. I tried to connect same router to main hub via Ethernet on hub and wan on my router and then I get Internet access via wifi. Maybe there is an issue in the wire going to the wall in another room (where I am tryin to access it?) But wire straight to pc works? What to do gentlemen?

LAN stands for local area network, WAN is wide area network but you're looking for WLAN which is wireless local area network.

You needn't go to the router to connect wirelessly. Just look at the wi-fi icon on your Taskbar - bottom right of the screen - and clicking that should show you a list of networks close enough to connect to.

One is your router, click connect and input the security key and it should work.

Once I connect to wlan there is no internet connection. Internet only works via Ethernet cable. Anything that is connected wirelessly to the router does not have Internet access. Anything that is connected via Ethernet cable to the router also has no internet. Internet is only available via connecting directly into the wall Ethernet port. I tried connecting this same router directly to main hub and it gives Internet via wlan and Ethernet port (this is in another room) but once I am in my pc room only way to get Internet is to connect cable directly to wall/PC. What to do?

Would you please press your Windows key and R together then into the Run box that shows up, type
cmd /k ipconfig /all
then press Enter. The spaces are important.

Take a screenshot of that black form and post it back here. Register at www.imgur.com if you don't have a favourite uploader. You'll get e-mails from them so use a spare address if you have one.

I'd like to see how the configuration looks.
