Would 1440p or 144hz Be Better for a Monitor

I'm looking to upgrade to a 1070 soon and was looking for some advice with monitors. I play a variety of games, ranging form FPS like Overwatch and CS:GO to Skyrim and Fallout. I do play competitive in FPS, but I'm not super competitive or trying to go pro or anything like that. So I was wondering if it would be better to get a monitor thats 1080p with 144hz or a monitor thats 1440p with 60hz, cause I don't feel like paying more for my monitor then the graphics card to get both lol.

Unfortunately there is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. There are merits to both setups, you just have to weigh your options and decide which games and performance aspects are most important to you. For FPS, especially CS:GO, 144Hz is the clear winner. For better graphics in games like Skyrim and Fallout 1440p is the way to go.

honestly its comes to this
first has you seen a 1440p monitor compared to a 108op and if/when you see one do you personaly think that image is worth it?
2nd is the 1080p image enough for you if that is the case then really a 144hz 1080p monitor is enough
