The ASMB6-iKVM is a chip that allows one to remotely restart/manage a workstation computer independently of the OS. I recently installed it in my Asus Z9PE-D8 WS mobo. After flashing the firmware for the chip, the Q-code diagnostic display on the mobo does an 80 second countdown procedure which allows the chip to initialize. When it finishes it stops at 0. Eventually the display changes to AE, which means "Legacy Boot Event". During this process nothing is outputted to the monitor.

If I remove the ASMB6-iKVM chip the mobo POSTs fine.

This is a pretty specific problem, but if anyone has any insight I'd appreciate it.

There has been an update - after about 40 minutes last night it ended up booting successfully. I restarted it this morning to configure the KVM in BIOS, but now it's taking a long time again.

Do you mean to ask whether I've been using an external graphics card or the mobo's onboard KVM graphics? I have been using an external graphics card. Would using the mobo's KVM graphics card during the BIOS screens help?

Another update - so yes, basically after the ASMB6-iKVM chip initializes for 80 seconds it takes another 10-15 minutes of the error screen sitting at 0 before it moves onto CSM initialization, which takes around 10-15 minutes. Overall it takes ~30 minutes for booting up. How could this be fixed? The BIOS is up-to-date.
