For a decent recording PC is a SSD necessary?

I am selecting parts for my PC build. It will be to record xbox one through an elgato, as well as some light/casual gaming.
Should I get an SSD in addition to the other harddrive or will the 7200RPM be enough?

Any advice is appreciated, thank you!

depending on the recording software a ssd would be better. some video editing software you can set up a large cheap ram disk. some you cant. with a hard drive it not the speed of the drive but the hard limit that lets data flow to and from the drive. ssd the new ones max out at 500 or so on the sata controler. the new 950 pro m2 is a lot faster then that. the old hard drive 120g or less if your lucky. latter on this year the price of the 500g ssd should be dropping as newer and cheaper ssd drop.
