DDR3 - Added 4x2GB to my 2x2GB, making it 12GB. Is it good for APU?

Hello and good day.

I just added a G.Skill RipJaws X 2x4GB RAM DDR3 1866mhz CL9 (F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL) to my unit which already has a 2x2GB with the same brand, speed and CAS latency.

I'm also running an AMD APU A10-5800K (which is pretty old now actually).

My question is, is it better to run with the 12GB in terms of speed compared to 8GB? (I know this sounds weird and stupid for you but the place where I bought the new RAM said that it might affect the speed of my computer since they are not of the same kit)

Also, my motherboard is Gigabyte F2A85X-D3H.

Thanks in advanced for your help!

Tried and both worked for sometime, but one day, one RAM slot seemed to be dead but all of the sticks still work fine so I'm staying with a 4x2 build and try to sell the other 2x2 modules.

I also started tweaking to overclock the new RAM, never tried it on the 2x2 modules, and got it up to 2133mhz at 1.55v in DRAM voltage. I wanted to ramp it up to 2400mhz but it doesn't seem to work even at 1.65v. Any hints that you can give?

Thank you very much!
