I am currently using a Asrock Z77 extreme 4 and would like to use it because it looks nice and hopefully works well, however no matter what hard drive I put in it or how new the hard drive is they never show up in the bios and as so I can't download windows on to anything, if anyone knows how to fix this please help I've already tried 3 drives, a WD blue, a Hitachi, and a Seagate

(I remade this because I accidentally marked someone's answer as the solution and couldn't figure out how to remove that)

Hey there again, @TheBroodingAngst!

It seems pretty unfortunate! Did resetting the BIOS work, at least? If nothing helps, then you should definitely consider contacting the motherboard manufacturer's customer support for assistance. If the mobo has failed and is still within the warranty period, you should be able to RMA it and get a replacement from them.

Good luck!

Hey there, @TheBroodingAngst!

I'd recommend you check if you have your motherboard hardware drivers installed from the mobo's driver pack CD or the official website of the manufacturer. If you still have issues recognizing any of the HDDs, try plugging them one by one and use different SATA cables with them. I'd also suggest you check if you have those SATA ports enabled in the BIOS, as it might also explain why they don't show up in the boot options.
Another thing you should check is the SATA mode and try swapping between IDE and AHCI. Keep in mind that you need to have only the OS destination drive connected when installing Windows, having more SATA devices might cause an OS Confusion.

Another thing that might help you is resetting BIOS.

Give these a try and let me know how it goes!

I only use one at a time due to lack of HDD to motherboard cords and I've tried taking the connectors out of the disk drive that is read as there and plugging it into the hard drive. Also I've tried switching to IDE, and Asrock doesn't let you update the bios with the disk, it just doesn't work for whatever reason which is apparently a fairly often thinv
