Hi guys

My network architecture at home is MODEM -> ROUTER (AC87U) -> NAS (LAN) (ASUSTOR 5104T)

I am trying to set up FTP so that I can access my files at home at work (i.e. external network). I have tried to set a static IP to the NAS. I understand that the AC87u is not a supported router under the ASUSTOR software for EZ-Router set up. At this point, when i click EZ-Router, it sends an error:

Multiple routers detected. The router's external IP is different than the NAS's external IP. Please check your network environment first.

Anyone knows what should I do to set up the FTP? I can't seem to find any guidance on this. I tried emailing the help from ASUSTOR, but they were very slow to reply.

Thank you

Regards
Ben

You didn't post make and model of modem, but the message seems to indicate it is possibly a modem/router combo, in which case you would have a double NAT issue.

You may need to port forward FTP...

You may need to port forward FTP services, but it's possible you'll have to correct the double NAT first if it exists.
