I am going to follow the format on the thread that I saw to the best of my abilities, but I can't follow it exactly. Also sorry if this is the wrong section, but it looks right to me.

This is my current PC:
CPU: Intel i3-4170 @ 3.7 GHz
GPU: Nvidia GTX 750 MSI OC 1 GB Edition
8 GB RAM
Motherboard: ASUS H81M-K
Monitor is 1920x1080
Windows 10 Home

I want to upgrade this PC for around $500 and make it as powerful as I can for that budget. I will take into account rebates/free games/selling my current parts.

I don't know what parts to upgrade or what to upgrade them to (don't need a monitor), so I am leaving that to you, I would prefer to stick with Intel/Nvidia though, and I would prefer it to be quiet(however I will sacrifice that for power).

I'm sure you all have more experience with what website to use than I do, though I have had several bad experiences with Newegg, so I would hesitate to use them again.

I am upgrading because my current PC build is starting to only be able to handle new games at low/medium settings, and it is only a matter of time before it can't even do that.

I think that is all you need for my situation, however if you need anything else don't hesitate to ask.

Was thinking of a GTX 1060 but it appears they are all out of stock. They are going for around $250.

You could also invest in an SSD. If you are using a normal hard disk the increase in responsiveness of the entire PC is very noticeable. The 850 EVO is still pretty much the best budget SSD you can get right now.

I do have an SSD so I don't think I have to worry about that. The i5-4690 looks good, it seems that the geforce website is selling the 1060 for 299.99, do you think that is worth it?
