ESD band radiator grounding

I have an ESD band, and I would like to ground myself to a radiator. Can someone please provide detailed information on how to do it, such as do I need to scratch away any paint, or connect the crocodile clip to the pipe itself? Thanks in advance :)

Hi
I assume your radiator is connected with copper pipes and not plastic.
You need to find somewhere with bare metal to attach the crocodile clip.
If you are in the UK your radiator may have an earth clamp (this is normally fitted to the bottom of the radiator and will have an earth wire connected to it)and this would be the best place to connect to.
