I have been freaking out over a new power supply. It is for my 750ti build. I know that I only need about 400 watts. I also know that you need a quality psu no matter what. I have been looking and have it narrowed to either the EVGA supernova 550 g2 or the GS. I don't know which one. Is there any others? I really really really don't want to have a psu explode on me and take everything and have the possibility to burn my apartment. Can anyone help me have some piece of mind and ensure a good psu.

if the prices are similar or even close @ 10 bucks get the G2. I say this because it has a better warranty than the GS, by 2 years.
fyi
G1 series 10 yr warranty
G2 series 7 yr for 550 and 650W units, 750 and above 10 yr warranty
GS series 5 year warranty, 850 and above 7 yr warranty
GQ series 2-3 yr warranty, 1000W and above 5 year warranty

Ok. I think corsair is a much more reliable brand name than evga although I do like their sc GPUs. And if you think that the series is better also than I suppose I have a psu. Only reason i would have went with g2 is couldn't find rmx on list. The list is a good guideline though but it is a little confusing and in a way lame :p

EVGA has some great power supplies , made by SEASONIC and SUPER Flower , I just prefer the RMX and RMI series.

They also have some very poor units made by HEC and FSP.

GS and PS series from SEASONIC are good and so are the B2 , G2 ,P2 and T2 series by Super Flower.

The Q units by FSP are ok , but not on par with the SEASONIC or Super Flower models.

The EVGA G2 is probably the way to go. Made by Super Flower, a great OEM as far as quality is concerned.
The RM series as recommended above has poor quality capacitors, and I would not recommend it, especially considering you can get much better quality for the price.

Wrong , the RMX and RMI are first rate and in terms of stability better than the GS and G2.

RM is a totally different series.

Oh, I see, the RMX is just the updated version without Corsair link functionality.
My bad! :)
I just remembered the old RM series with CapXxon capacitors and remembered all the problems they had.
Thanks for bringing me up to speed with this.
Cheers.
