I have an A10 5800k processor and its starting to give me problems, with graphics card crashes and overall slow performance. Would upgrading to an a10 7890k be worth it? I'm looking for something under $200.

I'd recommend something like this:

Really, any 8GB kit of DDR4 RAM will work fine. They all cost around $30-40 unless you go for the really fast kits (which don't actually improve...

If your motherboard supports FM2+ processors, then the 7890K is indeed the logical choice. However, you have to consider that FM2(+) is all but dead at this point, with no significant upgrades on the way, and that the 7890K is expensive for what it is. It would make more sense to save up for Zen or Sky/Kaby Lake and get that instead, but if you can't wait, the 7890K will be a nice step up. If your motherboard can't handle FM2+ APU's, grab an A10-6800K instead.

Consider i3-6100 + an h110 mobo, will cost you $160ish. The CPU performance is much higher, but the graphics performance is a bit less than the 7890k. It is, however, the opposite of a dead platform (FM2+ is getting on in years whereas the skylake is not even a year old), and supports a bunch of newer tech.

If you absolutely need a CPU now because your old one is giving you problems, I see two options for you:
1) Get the A10-7890k or 6800K-- $150ish
If you go this route, you will spend the least and will ahve a system roughly equivalent to consoles in gaming eprformance. However, your next upgrade will basically be an entire system upgrade since everything will be pretty out of date, you'll need new RAM, CPU, Mobo, and a GPU if you can afford it.

2) Get i3-6100, Mobo, and RAM--$200ish
If you go this route, your next upgrade will be whichever part is lagging behind. If you feel your GPU isn't enough, you can go for a new one. Need a better CPU, options exist to slot into the same mobo. However, your current system spec will be slightly below console gaming performance due to the GPU on the i3-6100 not being as good as the one on the A10 7890k (It is still noticeably better graphics than the a10 5800k and comparable to 6800k).

Personally, I would go route 2, since it is an upgrade both in cpu and gpu performance and has better upgrade options for the future. Overall, those $200 will go much farther than they would in option 1.

So with route 2, what RAM would you recommend?
