RAID 1 new SAS disk giving errors on 1st boot

Hey guys. Ive been facing a problem for a while now. I have this HP ML350 G6 server which was giving me harddisk errors on both disks (checked with HP SmartStart). One of the disks was 4 years old and the other 9 months old. I sent the one that still had warranty back and just got the new one. I placed it in the slot so i can rebuild the RAID and not loose the data when replacing the other disk but as soon as server booted HD Sentinel gave me 47% health on the old disk (dropped 1% since last start) and 82% on the brand new one (started with that health)
Is it possible that some of the errors transfered through the faulty disk or just the shipment sucked and i got a bad disk?
If its just transfered errors will that be fixed if i wipe both disks and reinstall everything?

Sounds like hard disk sentinel just tells you the satuts of the drives, not the file system. If you were to wipe and re-install you would likely have the same result.

What errors are you seeing? And is hard drive sentinel trustworthy? I have never heard of it and there "awards page" is full of sites I don't visit as well as awards that say no malware, how is that an "Award"?

Have you run the HP diags on the drives? If you did have some data corruption a raid 1 will simply copy that corruption to the other drive, all it does is mirror.

From their site (about 90% health):
You should not ask your vendor for replacement drive in this situation. Hard disk manufacturers define different methods to verify when a hard disk should be replaced in terms of warranty: when they have "enough" problems (not only bad sectors) to reach a specified threshold. At this time, the hard disk has usually serious problems and may be seriously damaged which prevents data recovery. At this time, Hard Disk Sentinel displays 0 % health. You can ask for replacement hard disk only when the hard disk health is 0 %.

I trust HD Sentinel more than any other windows based testing software for hard drives as it is the only software to identify multiple times problems on hdd`s when even techs fail to see the problem.
I just ran HP diagnostic disk and it sais that: "Error: F155: The read/write hard error rate recorded in the monitor and performance log is above acceptable threshold."
The quick test gave no errors on both disks although im sure the complete test will give error atleast for 1 of them as it has not been replaced yet. I will run full test tonight and see what it gives then will probably post back here with screenshots as for some reason it doesnt let me export test log to a usb drive
EDIT: The drive that im sure is not OK HP diag gives the following errors - Drive self test failed and the F155 error.
Also i was rejected warranty replacement because "the hard drive was working on computer out of warranty (even though the drive was sold to me with 3 years warranty)

UPDATE: I ran full test using HP SmartStart last night. The result was as i suspected - even the brand new drive failed at Sequential test. I have full report exported as few html files but i have no idea how to upload them here
