Hello All,

I bought my PC 18 months back, from the beginning itself i had been getting booting problems like "Chassis intruded", or "Press F1 to ... Press F2.." for sometimes but not frequently, before the warranty period get over(8 months back) , we had a sudden power outage back to back twice in a short interval, then i turned on the PC, saw only the bluelight on power button and cpu fan was running smoothly, but the system didn't boot up, when i remove the mantle, i got a burning smell, so i went to zebronics service center , they refused to analuze the root cause of the problem so i bought new PSU as i still had warranty.. and i cleaned the dust , inserted new PSU, and from then it was working fine but still i used to get "chassis intruded " booting problem occasionally , one month back i got CPU fan error problem when i turned on power ,after login, it workd fine for 10 minutes and get shutdown, when i analyse the issue , i realized there is some problem with cpu fan , while i am planning a visit for service center, i got the same "burnt smell", "PSU" problem.

Now the thing is, the PC is not Turning ON at all, i want to know possible rootcause of this issues.

1. is it due to eletrical problem?
2. is it due to faulty UPS(because of i got couple of surge failure issues when my system got shutdown, then when i decided to visit a service center)
3. is it due to faulty motherboard?
4. is it due the the area where PSU wire get connects?

what if my motherboard has gone? do i need to buy new RAM, processor , harddrive also along with motherboard and PSU?

Please advice.

P.s: i apologize for my english and spelling mistakes, kindly bear with this

Just now i checked with the service center. He said the moterboard is ready and asked me to collect it, and said he will explain the issues in person.

So he repaired Motherboard, also asked me to buy new CPU fan. How to fine a perfect replacement for it?
My PSU also gone. I used PSU with 450 watt before.

Need suggestions on PSU and CPU Fan

Solution
Burning smell is never good, could be a short somewhere, could be the power supply (did you get a cheap unit?), could be motherboard (or the cheap power supply causing the motherboard to die). The chassis error could just be a case that is not closed properly or something wrong with the sensor.

If your CPU fan did not work properly but you were still trying to use the system, it could have burned out the CPU. Really quite a few things you need to check on.

Just the fan or the full heatsink? What you can get depends on what motherboard you have and what type of heatsink you have on the CPU.

For a power supply, since there is no way for us to know what you can purchase in your area, XFX, Seasonic, Antec, EVGA are good brands to look for.
