I have a Kingson UV400 SSD with me. During benchmarking using different tools, all of them show Write speed as close to 230 MB/s. But when I am trying to write using my own application, my write speed stays around 100 MB/s. I am writing in chunks of 4MB. Any suggestions?

Solution
Well it depends on your system as well and the drive you are reading from when transferring the files - e.g. if you're transferring files from an HDD with a maximum speed of 100MB/s, you won't be able to write it on the SSD with more than 100MB/s. Anyway, give it a try with the suggestions to see what might be happening as when I've checked that SSD model's specs, even 230MB/s do not get close to the speed which is on paper even for the smallest capacity model (the 120GB one).

Please keep me posted.
Hey there, Amrit.

Writing numerous files in large quantities will always be slower than writing a single large file. However, this should not affect the speed of the SSD the same way as it would normally do with an HDD, because of its access time, but it will be affected nonetheless.
I'd recommend that you backup the data you have on that drive, just to be on the safe side and then go through the basic troubleshooting. Try the drive with a different SATA port and different cables. Check for available firmware updates for that SSD model. Test it for error with an SSD diagnostic tool.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.

But how come benchmarking tools are able to generate good numbers. Am I missing something? Is there an optimal way of writing to SSD disks?
