Hi, im wondering where i would start to learn about what i assume is the right topic of electrical engineering, but at a basic level

I want to learn how to mess with electronics such as like circuit boards and stuff like that and learn how they work and how to create my own (at obviously a basic level and then consider pursuing it further)

Im a pretty smart kid i got a 4.1 gpa last year in high school and have had my eye on engineering as a career for a long time, while this type isnt what ive set my eyes on as a gamer and a computer enthusiast i find it very interesting and would like to learn more!

Does anyone know where to start? any book names? any wiki articles on what i should start learning? anything to help me out just a bit?

ps: i literally have no starting knowledge of this topic so anything to help to start form the very beginning, obviously as a highschool student ive done some math such as pre calculus and am taking ap calculus next year so anything before those topics ive already learned but past that is all new territory and if anyone has any wisdom to get me started i would appreciate it so much! Also if there is anything i should correct in my understanding of what im talking about please tell me!

If you go for a degree you will get your in depth theory there, but what would put you ahead is practical experience and basic knowledge of electronic circuits. I started with electronic engineering club when I was 14. If you can find something similar within your home area then definitely go for it. It is the best hands on experience, plus you get support from enthusiastic tutors which will only motivate you more. They normally know all the books you could possibly need. The best part about these clubs is you get to keep your created gadgets :D

yeah that sounds like a great idea but i more plan to learn about it as a hobby at home, ive found more liking to aerospace engineering which is a completely different subject but i also love computers and thats why i have this curiosity and would like to read some booksor something at home to learn more, although a club might be a good option even if i dont want to pursue it all the way to college
