Suddenly experiencing monitor distortion. The boot screen looks good. After successful login, the pc hangs in desktop for some time. Then monitor turns off with a distortion, cpu fan makes random noises, no power for keyboard, mouse (back panel). But motherboard has power with cpu fan running like (accelerating and decelerating a bike).

Cpu fan started making some weird noise few days back, and temp raise and fall randomly from 30 to 55 degrees when not in use.

Please give me an answer folks.

Have a look at the temperature of the cpu inside bios after 10 minutes. How hot is it?

Install ubuntu live on an usb flash drive and boot from it
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows

please post brand and model of your hard drive
you can use the tool "hdd health" if you don´t know it

reset bios / clear cmos by jumper (read the manual how to do so)

install memtest86+ on an usb flash drive and bot from it (needs some time to test the whole RAM)
http://www.memtest.org/download/5.01/memtest86+-5.01.usb.installer.zip

at this moment, I think it´s your power supply
reinstall cpu cooler with fresh thermal paste and apply it with the "pea" method

replace PSU with a good 80plus bronze

don´t you use a graphics card? just onboard graphics from the mainboard?

install memtest86+ on an empty usb stick and boot from it

check HDD with its manufacturer´s tool

Just to make you clear with my problem I'm breafing what happened. So you can come to a conclusion. Thanks for your replys.

I cleaned the cabinet and all the removable parts inside. (Psu fan, cpu fan, Mobo, etc), and then reinstalled them.

When I power ON, mobo gets power supply. But the back panel with mouse, keyboard, monitor and the usb ports has no power output.

Then again I reassembled all the parts. Same problem exists. But some times after a 2 or 3 days gap it turns ON. It started working and I kept using it. But I noticed a weird sound coming from the cpu fan. (as mentioned above).

Then I ordered a thermal paste and applied it. Just a drop in the middle of the cpu. After that it was working well for a week. One day I turned ON, Windows loads, and on the desktop I right clicked to refresh. That's it. The system hanged for a while and then the monitor started with distortion and shuts down completely.

Again I reassembled the parts except cpu. (because of the new paste applied).

Sorry for writing a long story, because I'm that much worried. It's the only entertainment I had. Sorry for my bad English. (not my primary language). Please help me with this.

Forget to mention. I'm using the on board graphics only.
