Hello, I have an older Dell Latitude E6410 where I recently replaced the Mobo. Some time after replacing the mobo, I realized the fan was not working properly and my cpu was getting hot. I thought it could either be the fan or the fan connector on the mobo, so reordered a new fan (which didnt fix the problem), and subsequently another mobo (also used). I reinstalled everyhting this w-e, it seems things are working, but the fan is still not always running when starting the computer (but will start later), but I sometime get a warning when I start the laptop that I have a fan problem. I have no idea what can be causing the problem, given I have the same issue with 2 differents mobos and 2 different fans? Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks.

Solution
The only thing that would cause that error is an issue with the fan or the motherboard connections. Did you check for a BIOS update? Laptop fans may not always run, they should only spin when needed.
