A couple of days ago my PC stopped working I tried for a couple of days to find out what was wrong. In the end i found out that it was my SSD which was causing the problem and replaced its power cable. In the process of trying to diagnose what was wrong I took out the CMOS battery to find out what was wrong and i think this is what might of caused the problem in which i have now.

I tried loading up my PC as normal after fixing it but my SSD (which windows is installed on) was not being recognised and i have no clue how to fix it. All the cables are connected its just not recognising it. I tried a HDD which i had lying around and it recognised it straight away so I'm ruling out the ports being faulty. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"end i found out that it was my SSD which was causing the problem and replaced its power cable" how did you find out that it was the power cable????

the reason I ask is this is how I read your post

PC not working
found out SSD was the issue
replaced the ssd power cable
SSD is still having an issue so maybe the power cable was not really the original issue.

Does the ssd show up in the bios boot device menu?
Again what made you think it was the ssd power cable?
What was the original "PC stopped working issue"? was it no post? no powering on? or just no booting windows?

Really the way I read your post it sounds like the SSD itself is the fault or something relating the the pc stopped working issue caused the ssd to fry?

It indeed could be the SSD. A couple of days ago i went to turn the pc on and for about a second everything lit up and fans started spinning but immediately after this the pc would then all of a sudden shutdown and it was stuck like this until I changed the SSD powercable, then i was able to start up the PC and get to the BIOS but like I said my SSD is nowhere to be seen in the bios. I really think that when i took out the CMOS battery something has caused the motherboard to stop recognising. Any other suggestions and thanks for the reply.
