what is better, Ram or DDR?

looking at some graphics cards, was due to get a 750gtx but cant find one cheap or that doesnt require 6pin. i seen a 730, but what is better, 1gb with DDR5 or 4GB with DDR3?

Well, The memory doesn't make a big deal I find.Just go with the 750 as that is a lot better than a 730

i would but i either cant find one below £100 or with out the need for extra power as i have no free 6pin

The name of this post is misleading... DDR is a form of RAM.

Anyways, DDR5 will be faster than DDR3, but more VRAM means more real estate that you can use at once. Basically, if you plan to game at above 720p then I would get at least 2GB. I would want at least 3GB for 1080p gaming.

GDDR5 is two to four times as fast as DDR3 and the GTX750/750Ti are much faster than a 730/740.

1GB of GDDR5 is a bit low for semi-modern games, you may want to look for a 2GB GDDR5 750. They shouldn't be much more expensive than the 1GB models and the 750Ti are often cheaper than the slightly slower GTX750.

A lot of the newer games are adding visual effects that really use up the VRAM on your card. Memory does make a difference.

i currently have an integrated Radeon R7 so i need an upgrade on that, its a bit sluggish and have been told that a stand alone GPU would be a lot more beneficial. any suggestions around the £100 mark?

Specs look good, but I just don't like the aesthetics of that card... Black PCB with no backplate and a white cooler just doesn't appeal to me.

Well its the only gtx 950 that doesnt require a 6 pin pci-e power cable, as far as i know.
