AMD FX series still worth it for budget gaming?

I am going to build a budget PC for my cousin, whose wants to join the Masterrace.
I will be using my r9 270x 2gb Dual-X for his build(cause i am upgrading to a rx 480 4gb)
Prices of the fx 8 series almost the same as the latest i3 6th gen in my country. So will be going all AMD with the fx 8320 be good, or should he pay a little more and get a i3 6100. One more thing though, he wont be upgrading the PC for next 4 years until his PC
Any suggestions are appreciated

An i3 6100 is alot better than FX 8320 for gaming. And you will be able to just upgrade the processor when need be in the late future, where as AMD socket for FX 8320 is over. I personally have nothing against AMD's Cpus, but for the same price or cheaper you can get something better with Intel. The only reason a FX 8320 will be better than an i3 6100 is for video editing, recording, streaming (multi tasking) etc

This concerns me, as i want him to get the most for the money, can the FX pull ahead if Dx12 becomes mainstream?
Plus the i3 + ddr4 mobo combo is like 30$ more here compared to the FX with a decent Mobo

I would get the i3 for all the reasons that Trafalgar747 said. and this is coming from a guy with a FX-8350 and a i3-6100.
