Will I notice a big difference in performance between i7 3537u and other cpus in 3ds max?

I'm thinking of changing my laptop for a workstation with a xeon cpu x5550, x5670 or e5620. Will i notice a big difference and if yes, which one of these will be better ? They are all paired with a Nvidia Quaddro FX 4800.also will a dual x5550 offer a big boost in performance or it isn't worth the money?

You can use ECC memory with an i7, but of course it won't use that extra functionality. I'm pretty sure that shipping any i7 to wherever you are would be way cheaper than buying any equivalent Xeon, where do you live?

Xeons are NOT faster than their i7 equivalent. They are meant for high availability, reliability and of course, to be used with ECC memory. Just go for the model with the fastest i7. Do not just trust me on this one, check real world benchmarks between them. You will save tons of money. You are not doing databases or programming while debugging on virtual machines or such. There's no need for server components when doing this kind of work. Unless of course, it's a multi threaded application where an i7 doesn't have the core count you need.

The only difference in what you expect to do with them, would be that a Xeon (most of them) can be paired with 2 or more CPU's of the same model, while the i7 can't. It depends on your budget.

The problem is that I'm on a really tight budget and where I live there arent many good cpus available, also I have some ecc memory which I can't change. The only good available cpus are these xeons. And my i7 laptop takes more than 4 hours to render.
