I just ordered a PC which has a GTX 1060, I am going to order a monitor, my eyes are on one that only has 2 hdmi ports on the back, is that fine or do I need a dvi port or vga port? Please help , please explain what the importance is of these Ports and if they are necessary or give better performance, thanks :)

Solution
For your purposes it is totally fine.

You may need an adapter to convert from DP to HDMI depending on your cards connections.

Okay perfect thanks! What do you mean by dp to hdmi can you link me ? Thanks :)

I dunno why he said that, the 1060 has an HDMI port on it.

Basically, get a monitor that has HDMI and you'll be fine, don't get one that doesn't have HDMI.

You can also get a monitor that has DisplayPort (DP) as that's the future of monitor connections, and would be more future proof for video cards you get in the future.

Because I didn't assume this is his first and only monitor, or why he would be concerned about an HDMI to HDMI connection unless it was due to the lack of HDMI being available. With newer GPUs having only one or none, it isn't uncommon to see a lot of DP to HDMI dongles.
