GPU Crashes , Fans spins like crazy

Okey guys, long story short, every thing was working pretty epic until i desided to change the thermal paste and clean the dus in my gpu (which i wish that i havent doen that), plug it back into my mother board then booted the pc , working very well , after 5 min GPU crashes , fans spins like crazy 100% , restarted the pc again , 15 seconds later no singal in my monitor , fans spins again like crazy, sure a black screen, same problem over and over ;(.
my Gear is 1 year old.
Spec:
GPU : Asus4GB D5 X R9 290-DC2OC R
CPU : AMD FX-8350
MB : Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 970
Plz help and thanks aloot.

It sounds to me like the GPU is overheating. Perhaps try re-seating the cooler.

i already reseated the cooler and applyed a new thermal paste (cooler master) , nth changed .

The first step would be to see if it is actually a temperature issue or not. Using your monitoring program of choice, keep your eye on the temps and report back with your findings.

Its an overheating problem from what i figure it out , i open the GPU and added more thermal paste all over the core , now works great no crashes .one hour long gaming (NFS) , fans spins normal , but GPU temperature is 90C on GPU Tweak ..hope this is normal . thank aloot for your help

No problem.

90C is a bit hot though, that ASUS card should be hovering at around 80C max. It also depends on the fan curve, how fast are your fans spinning at 90C (% out of 100)?

At 90C , fans spins just 20% , when i want to change the fan speed , GPU Tweak crashes ,
Am going to download another software to controle the fans , seems GPU Tweak is pretty puged .

20% is too low, I recommend 50% at least for the highest temperatures. Also, give MSI Afterburner a try, it's pretty solid.

MSI Afterburner is great man , my GPU now works like monster with Ultra sittings ,fans spins at 50% with MSI AB , GPU Temperature is between 45 to 65 C .

Glad to hear. Yeah, MSI Afterburner is great. I leave open the monitoring graphs on one screen while gaming on another so I can track real-time changes.
